Experienced Zoo educators curate these tours based on age, curriculum, and group interest.
Barnyard
School groups and field trips visiting the Zoo must schedule time in the Barnyard, which includes visiting the sheep and goats in the Contact Corral.
Add a truly memorable experience to your visit to the Zoo! Private animal encounters can be scheduled with either our red pandas or North American river otters.
Encounters must be scheduled at least two weeks in advance and can accommodate up to four participants. These premium experiences cost $200.00 each, and $50.00 goes directly to support conservation efforts in the wild.
For more information or to schedule an encounter, please email zoomembership@eurekaca.gov.
Guided tours of the Zoo and Redwood Sky Walk are available to youth & adult groups including scouts, clubs, etc.
Tours are tailored to the interests of the group. Please contact the Education Department to discuss your specific situation.
Thank you to our 2023 Zoo Campers and Zoo Crew for a wonderful summer!
We look forward to hosting new camps in 2024!
Cub Club (Ages 5-7)
Cub Club is a wild adventure for the young explorer. During each class we learn about animals through intimate encounters, hands-on exploration, theater, storybooks, art and more.
Jr. Zookeepers (Ages 8-10)
Hands-on learning about animals including caring for, feeding and making special treats for our zoo ambassadors. Camps cater to diverse learners and always include arts, physical movement and multi-sensory exploration.
Zoo Crew (Ages 11-15)
Zoo Crew (formerly YAK) meets three days a week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday OR Tuesday, Thursday and Friday). Participants assist Zookeepers with animal care tasks in the Barnyard and other projects around the Zoo while also learning about research, enrichment and training. Sign up for as many weeks during the summer as you would like!
